Wladimir Vasyliovych Demtschyschyn – Minister of Energy and Coal Industry of Ukraine (2014-2016), former member of the Supervisory Board of Naftogas

Place of Birth. Education. Born in Lviv. In 1998, he graduated from the Franko University of Lviv and obtained the qualification of a specialist in international economic relations and translator. In 2001, he received a specialist degree from the European University Viadrina in Frankfurt (Oder). In 2003, he earned an MBA in international finance from the School of Business at the University of Kansas (USA).

He is fluent in three foreign languages - English, German, and Polish.

Career. He began his professional career in 2005 as Chief Economist for Financial Work at Ernst & Young LLC.

2006-2008 - Expert in Investment Banking at the shareholder bank ING Bank (Ukraine).

2008-2014 - Head of the Investment Banking Team at the investment company Investment Capital Ukraine (Valerij Gontarewa).

In August 2014, Demtschyschyn took over the leadership of the National Commission for State Regulation in the Energy and Utilities Sector (NRE). From December 2014 - Minister of Energy and Coal Industry of Ukraine in the Cabinet of Arseniy Yatsenyuk.

On April 14, 2016, the Ukrainian parliament voted for Yatsenyuk's resignation and simultaneously for the appointment of Wladimir Groisman as Prime Minister of Ukraine. In the new government, Demtschyschyn was succeeded as Minister by Ihor Nasalyk.

On April 21, 2016, it was announced that the committee for the appointment of heads of particularly important companies for the economy in the Ministry of Economic Development approved Demtschyschyn's appointment as the fifth member of the Supervisory Board of Naftogas Ukraine. Demtschyschyn's candidacy was proposed in coordination with the President of Ukraine.

On September 11, 2019 the government prematurely terminated the term of Wladimir Demtschyschyn as a member of the Supervisory Board of Naftogas Ukraine.
