Petro Petrovych Dymynskyi - Ukrainian businessman and politician, one of the owners of the fuel-industrial group 'Kontinium', former owner of the ZIK information agency, former president of FC 'Karpaty' (Lviv), and a People's Deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine of the IV convocation.

Place of Birth, Education. Born in Kryvyi Rih (Dnipropetrovsk region). In 1977, he graduated from Kryvyi Rih Mining Institute with a degree in mining engineering.

Career. 1975-1976 - mining worker at the 'Southern' and 'Central' mines of Krivbasruda PA.

1977-1982 - underground mining foreman, acting head, head of the underground mining site of the Lenin Komsomol mine of Ukrzahidvuhillia Association in Chervonohrad (Lviv region).

1982-1987 - shift supervisor, chief engineer of the No. 10 'Velykomostivska' mine of Ukrzahidvuhillia PA.

1987-1992 - director of No. 3 'Velykomostivska' mine of Ukrzahidvuhillia PA.

1992-1995 - technical director of the Ukrainian-Polish JV Galmetal.

1998-2002 - chairman of the board of directors of the firm Zakhidprominvest, president of LLC 'Europe-2' (Kyiv), chairman of the supervisory board of PJSC 'NPK-Halychyna' (Drohobych).

From 2001 to 2020 - honorary president of FC 'Karpaty' (Lviv), which he owned. In the mid-1970s, Dymynskyi played for the football team 'Kryvbas' (Kryvyi Rih).

2002-2006 - People's Deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of the IV convocation. He was elected to the Verkhovna Rada on the list of Viktor Yushchenko's 'Our Ukraine' bloc. He was non-partisan, belonged to the 'Our Ukraine' faction, then was non-affiliated, and later joined the 'Regions of Ukraine' faction of the Party of Regions. He was a member of the committee on fuel and energy complex, nuclear policy and nuclear safety.

Status. In 2008, the newspaper 'Comments' estimated Dymynskyi's fortune at $610 million. Major assets include a stake in the fuel sales company Western Oil Group (owner of the WOG gas station network), where his partners are Ihor Yeremeyev and Stepan Ivakhiv, and a chain of leisure and entertainment establishments 'Grand' and 'Split' (including the 'Grand' hotel, 'Grand-club Sofia' entertainment complex in the center of Lviv, 'Grand-resort' countryside hotel complex, and 'Split-Karpaty' disco club). It is also said that Dymynskyi holds a stake in Lvivgas. However, after changes in the ownership structure of NPK Halychyna, nobody dares to name all the assets owned by the businessman, as he sold some of them during reorganization and entrusted some for management. It is known only that his interests, besides the mentioned companies, are also in metallurgy, banking, and road construction. Moreover, Dymynskyi is considered the owner of many real estate objects in Lviv and its surroundings.

In 2012, experts of the 'Korrespondent' magazine included the businessman with a fortune of $90 million in the ranking of the richest Ukrainians 'Golden Hundred', where he ranked 75th.

Involvement in a Traffic Accident. On August 18 2017 near the village of Yamelnya in Lviv region, there was a traffic accident involving Petro Dymynskyi's car.

As a result of the accident, a young woman died. Witnesses claimed that the politician was behind the wheel, but the defense side alleges that the businessman's bodyguard was driving. A few days after the incident, Petro Dymynskyi left the country and has not returned to Ukraine since.

On December 12, 2017 Pechersky District Court of Kyiv granted the Prosecutor General's Office's motion and permitted the arrest of Petro Dymynskyi and his delivery to the court for the selection of a preventive measure - detention. Documents were submitted to Interpol.

Family. The politician is married. Together with his wife, he has raised two daughters.

Hobbies. In his free time, he is fond of football.
