Oles Doniy

Born in Kyiv. In 1991, he graduated from Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv with a degree in history.Career.
He was one of the organizers and leaders of the student movement during the struggle for Ukraine's independence in the late 1980s to early 1990s. From 1990 to 1991, he served as the deputy chairman of the People's Movement of Ukraine and was a member of its Central Committee.From 1991 to 1992, he was co-chairman of the Ukrainian Students' Union.
From 1992 to 1994, he headed the Center for Extremism Studies.
From 1994 to 1998, he was a deputy of the Kyiv City Council and the deputy chairman of the Committee for Humanitarian Affairs.
From 1996 to 1998, he was a board member of the International Renaissance Foundation, a member of the Presidium of the Congress of Ukrainian Intelligentsia, and chairman of the board of the Smoloskyp Charity Fund.
From 1999 to 2000, he was the chairman of the Young Ukraine Party.
From 2001 to 2003, he was the head of the Last Barricade Art Club.
From 2003 to 2004, he was the editor-in-chief of the literary and artistic magazine Young Ukraine.
From 2004 to 2007, he was the president of the Center for Political Values Research, a well-known political scientist who was frequently invited by the media.
From 2007 to 2012, he was a deputy of the Ukrainian Parliament of the sixth convocation. He was elected to Parliament from the Our Ukraine - People's Self-Defense Party (Quota Movement National Self-Defense, leader - Yuriy Lutsenko). He was nonpartisan and served as the chairman of the subcommittee on humanitarian education, science, and informatization of the Committee on Science and Education of the Verkhovna Rada. In June 2010, he became a member of the parliamentary group For Ukraine! led by Viacheslav Kyrylenko.
From December 2012 to November 27, 2014, he was a deputy of the Ukrainian Parliament of the seventh convocation, elected as an independent candidate in constituency No. 88 in Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast. He served as the chairman of the subcommittee on state policy in the development and use of languages of the Committee on Culture and Spirituality of the Verkhovna Rada. He was nonpartisan and factionless.
In 2019, he participated in early parliamentary elections as part of the Movement of New Forces, where he secured third place on the list.
