The biography of Catherine Ashton

Date of Birth: 20.03.1956

Place of Birth. Education. Born in Appley Bridge, Lancashire County in the West of England. Graduated from the University of London as an economist.

Career. From 1983 to 1989, she worked in the private, public, and nonprofit sectors.

From 1998 to 2001, she headed the health department in Hertfordshire County. Vice President of the National Single Parent Council.

In 1999, Catherine Ashton was appointed Baroness Ashton of Upholland and received a seat in the House of Lords of the British Parliament. From 2001, she worked in the Department for Education and Skills, the Constitutional Affairs Department, and the Ministry of Justice.

Since 2007, she has been the parliamentary leader of the Labour Party in the House of Lords.

From October 2008 to November 2009, she was the EU Commissioner for Trade.

From November 19, 2009, to November 1, 2014, she served as the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy.
