Birthplace. Education. Born in Kyiv. In 1977, he graduated from the State Rostov Military Command Institute named after M.I. Nedelin. In 1993, he completed the Higher School of Privatization and Entrepreneurship. Candidate of Philosophical Sciences.
Career. Since 1984, he has taught Political Science and Political Economy at the Military Political Academy named after V.I. Lenin.
From 1993 to 1994, he was the General Director of the joint-stock company 'Lukoil-Consulting'.
Since 1994, he has been the Vice President of the joint-stock company 'Lukoil' - Head of the Main Department of Strategic Development and Investment Analysis. A member of the company's board.
Member of the board of directors of the insurance company 'Lukoil', the directorate of the Moscow Independent Language Corporation 'TV-6 Moscow', the 'Imperial' Bank, and the joint-stock company 'Telexpress' (TV channel M1). Principal shareholder and chairman of the football club 'Spartak' (Moscow).

His partner from 'Lukoil', Vagit Alekperov, ranked third in the list with 7.8 billion dollars.
