Biography of Anton Heraschenko

Date of Birth: 10.02.1979

Place of Birth. Education. Anton Heraschenko was born in Kharkiv. In 2000, he graduated from Kharkiv State Economic University (now - Kharkiv National University of Economics) with a degree in 'Business Administration' and the qualification of 'Economist'.

Career. From July 1999 to June 2000, he worked as an economist for resource usage planning coordination at AEK Kharkivoblenergo (from March 2000 AK Kharkivoblenergo). In the years 2002-2006, he was a member of the Kharkiv City Council.

From March 2005 to April 2010, Anton Heraschenko headed the Krasnohrad District Administration (Kharkiv Oblast). He was a member of the People's Union Our Ukraine (NSNU) and chair of the NSNU district organization in Krasnohrad. From March 2014 to November 2014, he was an advisor to Ukrainian Minister of Internal Affairs Arsen Avakov. From November 27, 2014, to August 2019, he was a Member of the Ukrainian Parliament of the VIII convocation, elected with the People's Front.

From September 25, 2019, to August 4, 2021, Anton Heraschenko served as the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine. He was responsible for coordinating the legislative work of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, cooperation with the Ukrainian Parliament, the public council at the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and relations with the media.

In August 2021, after being relieved of his duties as Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, Anton Heraschenko was appointed as an advisor to the Minister of Internal Affairs Denis Monastyrsky.

Views. As an advisor, he expressed an active pro-government position, which he has voiced directly several times. Once, Anton Heraschenko said in an interview with the television channel Dozhd: 'I believe that Russia is a sponsor of terrorism. We must call things by their names.' He also stated that there is no civil war in Ukraine, but 'an invasion of certain groups of terrorists from the territory of the Russian Federation, including mercenaries.'

Awards. Anton Heraschenko was awarded the badge of the Mayor of Kharkiv 'For Diligence. 350 Years of the Foundation of Kharkiv. 1654-2004', as well as a letter of gratitude from the President of Ukraine (2005).

Family. Anton's wife is Olesia (née Shambur). They have a son Anton from a previous marriage. In November 2016, a child was born to Anton and Olesia.
