Alexey Alekseevich Krikun – former head of the Department of Public Security of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Place of Birth. Education. Born in the village of Malaya Mikhailovka, Pokrovsky district, Dnipropetrovsk region. In 1999, he graduated from the Kyiv Higher School of the Ministry of Internal Affairs with a degree in law.

Career. He began working in 1981 as a repairman at the Prosyanovka kaolin plant.

1981-1983 - compulsory service in the Armed Forces.

In 1984 - policeman of the operational response platoon OBPPMS in Mykolaiv, in 1985 - platoon commander.

He served as an operational officer, operational officer for particularly important cases, and senior operational officer for particularly important cases of the Main Directorate for Combating Organized Crime of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.

In 1994, he was appointed assistant to the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.

In 1995, he was seconded to the Administration of the President of Ukraine as deputy head of the control service.

In 1996, he took the position of head of the First Department for Combating Smuggling and Violations of Customs Regulations in the State Customs Committee of Ukraine.

In 1999, he was appointed First Deputy Head of the Administration of the President.

Since 2003 - head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in Dnipropetrovsk region.

In 2007 - head of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in Kyiv.

Since March 15, 2010 - again head of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Kyiv.

In November 2012, he was succeeded in this position by Valery Koryak, and Krikun headed the Department of Public Security of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

On February 24, 2014, Alexey Krikun was dismissed from the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

In February 2014, he moved to Moscow.

Titles and Awards. Lieutenant General of Police. Awarded the medal 'For Honest Service' of the III degree, honorary badges of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
