Anatoli Golovin

Anatoli Sergeyevich Golovin - Head of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine (2010-2013).

Place of Birth. Education. Born in Makeevka, Donetsk Oblast. In 1976, he graduated from the Sverdlovsk Law Institute.

Career. He started his professional career as an electrical locksmith at the Donetsk Donbasskabel plant. He completed his military service.

After graduation, he worked as an intern, investigator, and senior investigator in the Prosecutor's Office of the Kirov District of Donetsk, and as a senior investigator in the Donetsk Prosecutor's Office.

From 1979 to 2005, he was involved in the state security organs (KGB of the USSR and SBU): he held senior positions in investigative and other departments, was deputy head of the contract and legal department, first deputy head, and head of the SBU investigation department.

From 2003 to 2004, he was the Deputy Attorney General of Ukraine - Head of the Main Department of Military Prosecutors (the position of Attorney General at that time was held by Hennadiy Vasylyev).

In August 2006, he was appointed as a judge of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine (CCU) by the proposal of the Ukrainian Parliament. Since 2008, he has been the Deputy Chairman of the CCU Andrei Strizhak.

On July 12, 2010, he was elected as the Head of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine at a special plenary session of the CCU. Strizhak was dismissed after the expiration of his three-year term. On July 18, 2013, Vyacheslav Ovcharenko was appointed as the Head of the CCU.

On February 24, 2014, he was dismissed from his position as a judge of the CCU by a resolution of the Ukrainian Parliament for violating his oath of office.
