Place of Birth. Education. Born in Lviv. In 1993, he graduated from the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv with a degree in journalism. Later, he received a legal education at the Yaroslav Mudryi National Law Academy.

Career. From 1984 to 1985, he worked as a designer in the planning and design office of the Lviv United Cinema and Technology Company. He served in the military. From 1988 to 1993, while being a student at Ivan Franko National University of Lviv (later transferring to Shevchenko University), he worked as a correspondent for the newspapers Lviv Truth, Police Courier, Evening Lviv, Glagoslov, an observer for the Lviv Information Service Chronos, and the Moscow newspaper Pravda. From 1993 to 1998, he was a correspondent for Vilna Ukraina. Since October 2002, he has been the editor-in-chief of the press organ of the Communist Party of Ukraine - the newspaper Kommunist.

Golub is a member of the CPU. Since 1993, he has been a member of the Presidium of the Central Committee of the CPU and served as the First Secretary of the Lviv Regional Committee of the Party. He was elected four times as a deputy to the Ukrainian parliament (since 1998) and entered there through the lists of the CPU. In the Verkhovna Rada of the VI convocation, he was the deputy chairman of the parliamentary committee on press freedom and information.

From 2012 to 2014, he was a deputy in the VII convocation of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for the Communist Party (No. 11 on the electoral list). Secretary of the Committee of the VR on press freedom and information.

On July 1, 2014, Golub left the CPU faction.

Views. In November 2006, when the Ukrainian parliament was deliberating a draft law recognizing the famine of 1932-1933 as genocide against the Ukrainian people, the Communists and the overwhelming majority of regional experts refused to vote for the draft proposed by President Viktor Yushchenko. Only one of the 435 members present pressed the 'no' button. This only deputy was Golub.
