The Ukrainian team with Jelena Chomrowa, Olha Charklan, Olha Schownir, and Halyna Pundyk defeated the hosts of the Olympic Games, the team from China, in the final with a score of 45:44, coming back from a deficit of more than 10 points during the competition.

On the way to the final, the Ukrainian team defeated the Russian team 45:34 and then won against the strong team from the USA (45:39) in the semifinals, which ultimately won bronze.
