Vladyslav Vladimirovich Kaskiw - Member of the Ukrainian Parliament of the 6th convocation (2007-2012), member of the faction of the Our Ukraine - National Self-Defense bloc (NUNZ).

In 2020, he was elected to the Transcarpathian Regional Council by the Opposition Platform - For Life Party.

Place of Birth. Education. He was born in the village of Mlynytsia-Podilska in the Borshchiv district of Ternopil region. In 1997, he graduated from the Faculty of History of the Dragomanov National Pedagogical University in Kyiv. In 2010, he graduated from the National Academy for Public Administration under the President of Ukraine with a Master's degree in Public Development.

Career. 1990 - freelance correspondent for the Chernivtsi newspaper Molodyi Bukovynets.

1991-1992 - studied at the Faculty of History of Jurko Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University. As noted in Kaskiw's biography, he was expelled for political reasons, as he was the chairman of the Bukovinian Student Association and head of the student strike movement. Participant in the student 'Revolution on Granite' in Kyiv (1990).

1993-1994 - Deputy Director of the Ukrainian Student Union's Center and Chairman of the Development Fund of the Union.

1994 - member of the National Committee of Youth Organizations.

1995 - Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the Congress of Young Reformers from Central and Eastern Europe.

1994-1997 - Coordinator of programs of the international foundation 'Widrodjennia', whose main donor is the well-known American financier and philanthropist George Soros.

1997 - Organizer of the School of Young Politicians.

1997-1999 - Head of the Center for Communication Development.

1999-2004 - Chairman of the public organization Freedom of Choice, Coordinator of the like-named coalition of NGOs.

2000 - Board member and co-owner of the association 'Ukraine - Development through the Internet'.

2000-2001 - freelance advisor to the Ukrainian Minister of Economy.

2001 - member of the World Bank contact group.

In 2004 - head of the Coordinating Center of the civil campaign PORA, which actively participated in the Orange Revolution and later became a political party of the same name.

2005-2006 - employee and later freelance advisor to Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko.

Since 2005 - member of the Supervisory Board of the International Center for Advanced Studies.

In 2006, Kaskiw ran for the Ukrainian Parliament in 3rd place on the electoral list of the PORA-PORP bloc. At the time of the elections, he was the head of the political council of the Civil Party PORA.

In the early parliamentary elections of 2007, he obtained a mandate as a deputy from the list of Our Ukraine - National Self-Defense. Head of the Subcommittee on Investment and Development in the Committee on Industrial and Regulatory Policy and Entrepreneurship of the Verkhovna Rada.

Since 2007 - Chairman of the public organization Institute for Political Development.

2009-2010 - advisor to Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko on foreign investments.

From August 2010 - Head of the Working Group on National Projects of the Economic Reforms Committee under President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych. Since December - Head of the Agency for Investments and Management of National Projects of Ukraine.

On March 12, 2014, he was dismissed at his own request from the leadership of the Agency for Investments and Management of National Projects.

Since 2020, he has been a delegate of the Transcarpathian Regional Council, elected by the Opposition Platform - For Life.

Criminal Case. In March 2016, Vladyslav Kaskiw was put on the wanted list, suspected of embezzling 7.5 million Hryvnias in state funds. On September 8, Prosecutor General Yuriy Lutsenko announced that the former head of Gosinvestproekt was detained in Panama. On September 10, 2016, a court in Panama set a bail of $600,000 for Kaskiw and prohibited him from leaving the capital. In October 2016, Kaskiw posted bail. According to the GPU, Kaskiw applied for political asylum in that country, but Panama denied him.

On November 1, 2017, GPU announced that Kaskiw had been extradited from Panama to Ukraine. Upon his arrival in Kyiv, Kaskiw was released on bail of 160,000 Hryvnias.

Awards. He received the medal of the government of Slovakia 'for his international contribution to democracy' (2005), and the commemorative badge 'For an outstanding participant of the Orange Revolution'. He was named among the 15 global 'democracy leaders' during his meeting with US President George W. Bush in Bratislava (February 24, 2005). He received the 'for merits' award from the Gleytsman Foundation (USA).

Family. Kaskiw is not married. He is raising a son born in 1996 and a daughter born in 2008.
