Date of Birth: 15.06.1956

Place of Birth. Education. Born in Moscow. In 1979, he graduated from the Faculty of History and Philology of the Institute for Asian and African Countries at M. V. Lomonosov Moscow State University, majoring in 'Eastern Historian'; from 1977-1978, he interned in Iran.

Career. From 1979 to 1981, he served in the military in Afghanistan, where he worked as a translator in a group of Soviet military advisors.

From 1981 to 1984, he was a lecturer in Persian at the KGB Higher School of the USSR named after F. E. Dzerzhinsky.

In 1984, he initially began working at the radio, in the main editorial office for broadcasts to the countries of the Near and Middle East at the Soviet State Television, and from 1987 in television, in the main information editorial office of the Central Channel (program 'Vremya'). He soon became one of the leading hosts of morning news programs ('90 Minutes', '120 Minutes'), a special correspondent, producing segments for programs like 'Vremya', 'Before and After Midnight', 'Seven Days', 'International Panorama'. During the perestroika period, he was the first Soviet journalist to present a series of reports from Israel.

In 1991, he was one of the creators of the program 'Vesti'. In January 1992, his own program 'Itogi' debuted on the first channel of GTRK-Ostankino. From 1993, the program 'Itogi' was broadcast on the NTV channel, and from April 2001 on TV-6.

From 1993 to 2001, he was a co-founder, vice president, chairman of the board of directors, and general director of the television channel NTV. He left the channel after NTV was acquired by Gazprom.

The years 2001-2002 - General Director of the television channel TV-6, which was closed in January 2002 by order of the Supreme Arbitration Court of the Russian Federation.

The years 2002-2003 - Editor-in-chief of the TV channel TVS, which was closed in June 2003 by order of the press service of the Russian Federation.

From 2005 to 2006, he hosted the independent program 'Analysis' on the radio station Echo of Moscow.

From June 2008, he combined his work at Echo of Moscow and RTVi with the role of consulting editor-in-chief for the Ukrainian TV channel TVi.

From September 25, 2009, to December 21, 2012, he was the host of the socio-political talk show 'Great Politics with Jewgeni Kiseljow' on the Inter channel.

From February 2013 to October 2013, he was the director of the LLC 'National Information Systems', which produced programs such as 'News', 'Details', and 'Weekend Details' for the Inter channel.

Since June 9, 2013, he has been the host of the Sunday program 'Weekend Details with Jewgeni Kiseljow' (Inter).

From May 16, 2014, to April 15, 2016, he was the host of the weekly political talk show 'Black Mirror' on the Inter channel. On April 15, 2016, he announced his departure from the Inter channel to focus on new projects in independent political journalism.

On July 13, 2016, he announced his move to the NewsOne channel, where from August 24 of the same year, he was one of the hosts of the show 'Great Interview', and from November 18, he hosted the weekly Friday talk show 'Great Counter Interview'. On January 9, 2017, he left the channel along with producer Alexei Semyonov and television host Matvey Ganapolski to work on another media project.

From August 24, 2017, to August 2019, he was the host of the news channel Pravoi, which was established based on the Tonis channel, where he hosted the programs 'Daily Summary' and 'Kiseljov. Own Production'.

Since September 6, 2019, he has been the host of the independent commentary 'Personal Code' on the radio station 'Radio NV'.

Since January 19, 2020, he has been the host of the independent analytical program 'Real Politics with Jewgeni Kiseljow' on the channel Ukraine 24.

Since March 10, 2022 - host of the information block of the channel Ukraine 24 in the Russian-language television marathon 'FREEDOM'.

Titles and Awards. Winner of the TEFI award from the Russian National Television Academy for the best television analysis program ('Itogi') and for the talk show 'Voice of the People'. Winner of the 'Telegrand' award for his contribution to the development of Russian television and radio. Awarded the 'Golden Feather' of the Union of Journalists of Russia and the international award 'For Freedom of the Press'.

Family. Married to his classmate, the host Masha Shakhova. He has an adult son Alexey, a grandson Georgiy, and a granddaughter Anna.

Hobbies. Collects wine collections, writes a column in the magazine 'Wine Madness'. Loves to play tennis.
