Date of birth: 01.08.1953

Education. In 1974, he graduated from the Kharkiv Law Institute.

Career. During his years of service, he worked in the prosecutor's offices of the Kharkiv, Chernihiv, and Transcarpathian regions.

From 1991 to 1996, he was the first deputy attorney general of Dnipropetrovsk region.

Then, he headed the Prosecutor's Office of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea until August 2000.

From 2000 to 2003, he was the prosecutor of Dnipropetrovsk region.

At the end of December 2003, the Attorney General of Ukraine, Gennadiy Vasilyev, dismissed Wladimir Schuba from his position 'due to numerous significant shortcomings in the organization of activity'. Furthermore, the media discussed quite extensively the business activities of the prosecutor.

However, already a year later, on December 10, 2004, the new Attorney General Svyatoslav Piskun restored the dismissed prosecutor to his former position. Shortly thereafter, the Pechersk District Court of Kyiv declared that Wladimir Schuba was unlawfully dismissed by Gennadiy Vasilyev.

In August 2008, he was appointed to the Committee of the Ukrainian Parliament for Combating Organized Crime and Corruption,

And until October 2008, he held the position of prosecutor of Dnipropetrovsk region.

Ratings. In December 2007, the magazine 'Focus' ranked Wladimir Schuba 164th in the TOP-200 of the most influential Ukrainians. According to the ranking compilers, his influence is substantiated by 'the position held, relationships in various fields'.

In the same year 2007, representatives of the Yulia Tymoshenko Bloc considered Wladimir Schuba as a possible candidate for the position of Attorney General.

Tragic end. On October 15, 2008, he died under rather strange circumstances. Initially, media reports claimed that Wladimir Schuba had died from a gunshot wound to the heart during shooting practice at the private shooting and sports complex 'Berkut' in Dnipropetrovsk. Then, the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported that preliminary information indicated that the death was due to an accident during the examination of a hunting rifle and that two other individuals were present on the shooting range beside the prosecutor. The investigative group was led by the deputy head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Mikhail Klyuev.

On October 16, the Minister of Internal Affairs Yuriy Lutsenko stated that the deceased had planned to go abroad for a vacation the next day after the cessation of the hunting rifle, obviously for hunting, as he had requested permission to carry the weapon from the authorities.
