Date of Birth: 05.08.1981

Place of Birth. Education. Born in the village of Banya-Bereziv, Kosiv District, Ivano-Frankivsk Region. In 2002 he graduated as a singer from Stepanik Prykarpattia National University. In 2005 he began his studies at the National Music Academy of Ukraine P.Tchaikovsky.

Career. Professional skills were acquired through performances at weddings, clubs, and restaurants. He gained initial fame in the role of Alexander II in the musical 'Equator' at the Kyiv Operetta.

From 2004 to 2005, he was a soloist of the State Orchestra of the Republic of Belarus under the direction of Mikhail Finberg. He performed at the 'Slavic Bazaar' competition in Vitebsk.

In 2007, he took 9th place at the 'New Wave' competition in Jurmala, Latvia. At the Italian 'Retrofest', the artist was named 'Best Voice of the Festival.'

The artist's repertoire is diverse. It includes classical opera arias, romances, modern entertainment compositions in various musical interpretations as well as popular songs and world classics.

The musical genres that are a priority for Vasiliy Lazarovich are pop-rock, sympho-rock, and sympho-jazz.

In 2009, the singer founded a charitable foundation that conducts charity events, festivals, and supports young talented artists.

Eurovision. On December 29, 2009, the Cultural Council of the National Television Company of Ukraine decided to delegate Vasiliy Lazarovich to the competition. When announcing this decision, the president of the NTKU, Vasiliy Ilashchuk, stated: 'It was decided to choose a representative through internal voting to avoid stir around the Eurovision competition.'

The choice of Vasiliy Lazarovich as Ukraine's representative at the prestigious Eurofestival this way caused a controversial reaction in the Ukrainian show business and society. Representatives of Ukrainian culture and show business addressed an open letter to the head of state and the Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration Anna Hermann, expressing their dissatisfaction that Vasiliy Lazarovich was appointed as Ukraine's representative at Eurovision by the NTKU without holding a qualifying competition as a 'confidant of Vasiliy Ilashchuk.' The letter was signed by Ukrainian cultural figures and show business personalities such as singer Taisiya Povaliy, producer Igor Lykhuta, director general of the Novy channel Irina Lysenko, general producer of the channel Oksana Panasovska, composer Konstantin Meladze, singer Oleg Karamazov, publisher Valid Arfush, executive producer of the Inter group Egor Benkendorf, music producer of the Enter channel Yuri Molchanov, actress Ruslana Pysanka, and TV producer Alexey Goncharenko. As Anna Hermann stated, the Eurovision participant will be re-elected.

The singer himself wrote a letter to the President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych, reminding him that he always supported the Party of Regions with his art and now asked for support as Ukraine's representative at the Eurovision Song Contest 2010.

On March 20, 2010 the selected artist was announced. The winner was Alyosha.

Hobbies. Vasiliy Lazarovich practices sports: athletics, karate, kickboxing. He plays the bayan and piano.

Family. The singer is not married.
