Eduard Leschenko

Place of Birth. Education. Born in the city of Achinsk in the Krasnoyarsk region. In 1972, he graduated from the Kyiv Engineering and Construction Institute with a major in 'Architecture'.
Career. He began his professional career in 1961 as the chief battery engineer in the military unit 39486 'A' in Baku. From 1962 to 1969, he worked as a design engineer in the Kyiv Department of Civil Construction. From 1969 to 1976, he was employed at the Kyiv design institute 'Giproselfmash' - initially as an architect and later as the head of a group at the institute. From 1977 to 1987, Eduard Leschenko served as a chief expert and chief architect at the Ministry of Industrial and Water Construction of the Ukrainian SSR in Kyiv. From 1987 to 1988, he was the head of the Ukrainian branch of 'Giproderevoprom'. From 1988 to 1997, he served as the head of the department and deputy director of the 'Kiev Prombud Project' institute.
In 1997, he became the deputy head of the main department for urban planning and architecture of the Kyiv city administration. In 2003, he was appointed deputy head of the main department for urban planning, architecture and design of the urban environment of Kyiv. In 2005, he was appointed the first deputy head of the main department for urban planning, architecture and design of the urban environment of Kyiv.
From July 7, 2006, E. Leschenko held the position of deputy chairman of the Kyiv city administration under Leonid Chernovetsky.
Tragic End. Died on March 23, 2008. The life of the deputy head of the Kyiv city administration ended in a plane crash of the aircraft 'Aeroprant 24 UR-ARPC', which occurred two kilometers from the airport 'Nalyvaikivka' in the Makarov district of Kyiv region. For reasons yet unknown, the aircraft entered a nosedive and crashed at the forest edge. According to the press service of the Ukrainian Ministry of Transportation and Communications, the aircraft was conducting a training flight under the supervision of Captain A. Litovchenko. There were two passengers on board, including a representative of the Kyiv city administration.
The Kyiv region prosecutor's office initiated a criminal case under Article 276, Part 3 of the Ukrainian Criminal Code. As the head of the press service of the General Prosecutor's Office of Ukraine reported, this was done due to 'violations of safety or operational regulations of air traffic, resulting in loss of life.'
