Date of Birth: 12.06.1967

Place of Birth. Education. Born in Sloboda Romanovskaya in the Novograd-Volynsky district of the Zhytomyr region into a farming family. During the Soviet era, he graduated from the Kiev Higher Tank Engineering Institute, and after the independence of Ukraine, he completed the faculties of operational-tactical and operational-strategic levels at the National Defense Academy.

Career. After graduating from school, he served in the Far East and Transcarpathian Military Districts. After the collapse of the USSR, he served in the southern and western operational commands of the Ukrainian Ground Forces.

He commanded a tank regiment, a tank division, and a separate mechanized brigade of armored guards.

Since February 2005 - Deputy Commander of the 13th Army Corps of the Ukrainian Ground Forces in Rivne.

On July 10, 2007, he was appointed Commander of the Southern Operational Command of the Ukrainian Ground Forces by decree of President Viktor Yushchenko.

In May 2012, he was appointed Commander of the 8th Army Corps of the Ukrainian Ground Forces.

During the hot phase of the war in the Donbass in the summer of 2014, he was the commander in Sector 'D' - the narrowest strip along the eastern border with Russia. The name Litvin was mentioned in connection with the investigation of the Ilovaisk tragedy.

In December 2016, he resigned from the ranks of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Lieutenant General.

From 2006 to 2015 - Deputy of the Zhytomyr Oblast Council of the V - VI convocations.

Since June 19 2018 - Ambassador of Ukraine to the Republic of Armenia.

On July 19, 2019, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed a decree dismissing Petro Litvin from the position of Ambassador of Ukraine to the Republic of Armenia.

Social Activities. Deputy of the Zhytomyr Oblast Council of the V convocation, member of the People's Party.

Family Ties. Litvin is married. He has two sons.
