Date of Birth: 26.04.1963
Place of Birth. Education. Born in the village of Velikiye Luchki, Mukachevo district of Transcarpathia region. In 1986, he graduated from Uzhgorod State University with a degree in 'Physics Teacher'.
Career. 1986-1989 - Physics teacher at Yasyn school in Transcarpathia and Uzhgorod School No. 8.
1989-1996 - Inspector, Senior Inspector of Customs (in Chop).
1997-1998 - President of the regional football club 'Verkhovyna' (Transcarpathia).
2001-2002 - Editor-in-chief of the regional socio-political newspaper 'Europa-Tsentr' of LLC 'Euro-Press'.
1998-2002 - Deputy and member of the Presidium of the Transcarpathian Regional Council, Chairman of the Deputy Group 'Solidarnist'.
2002-2010 - Member of the Ukrainian Parliament. In the IV term, he was elected from the list of Viktor Yushchenko's bloc, Our Ukraine.
In 2003, he joined the faction of the Party of Regions. In the Verkhovna Rada of the V and VI terms, he was elected from the lists of the PR (No. 102 in 2006 and No. 131 in 2007). He was a member of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on European Integration (V term) and a member of the Committee on Human Rights (VI term).
Member of the Party of Regions. Member of the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine.
On March 18, 2010, he was appointed by decree of the President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych as the Chairman of the Odessa Regional State Administration.
From March 18, 2010, to November 8, 2013, he was the Chairman of the Odessa Regional State Administration.
From October 26, 2014, to August 2019, he was a member of the Ukrainian Parliament of the VIII term in the territorial electoral district No. 133 (Odessa region).
Family. Eduard Matviichuk is married. He has a daughter Alisa (born in 1993) and a son Mark (born in 2004).
