Career. From 1978 to 1986, he worked as a senior geophysicist at NPO Rudgeofizika, and then as a geophysicist in the Zelenogorsk expedition of the USSR Ministry of Geology. From 1986 to 1991, on the instruction of the USSR Ministry of Geology - senior geophysicist in Mongolia.
In 1993, Mironov received a certification from the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation to work in the securities market. From 1994 to 1995 - executive director of AOZB Construction Corporation of Petersburg Renaissance.
In 1994, he was elected as a deputy of the Legislative Assembly of St. Petersburg of the I convocation, and from April 1995 - first vice-chairman of the Legislative Assembly of St. Petersburg.
In 1998, he was again elected a deputy of the legislative body of the 'northern capital' of Russia (the candidate's representative was Academician Dmitry Likhachev). In June 2000, he was elected vice-chairman of the Legislative Assembly of St. Petersburg of the II convocation. Since October 5, 2016, he was elected chairman of the Just Russia faction in the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation of the VII convocation.
During the presidential elections of 2018, he refused to stand as a candidate and was a member of the initiative group that nominated the candidacy of the President of Russia Putin.
Financing of Terrorism in Ukraine. In March 2014, Mironov was placed on the list of individuals subject to sanctions by the EU, USA, Canada, Australia, and Switzerland. In September 2015, he was included in the sanctions list in Ukraine.
On February 26-27, 2014, Mironov was in Sevastopol and Simferopol, just before the annexation of Crimea by Russia.
At the end of 2014 and in 2015, he visited the occupied Donetsk controlled by pro-Russian terrorists. He advocates for the recognition of the terrorist groups DNR and LNR as states.
He openly supports and finances pro-Russian terrorist organizations in Ukraine. On July 25, 2014, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine initiated criminal proceedings against Mironov.
Since September 19, 2021 - chairman of the faction 'Just Russia - For the Truth' in the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation of the VIII convocation.
Awards. In 2008, the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin awarded Mironov the Order 'For Services to the Fatherland' III class. The politician has been awarded firearms three times (in 2000, 2003, and 2005) bearing his name.
Family. Mironov is married and has a son and a daughter.
