Biography of Alexander Nechitailo

Date of Birth: 16.02.1969

Place of Birth. Education. Born in Kherson. In 1994, he graduated from the Ukrainian State Law Academy with a degree in law. In 1999, he completed the Odessa branch of the Ukrainian Academy of Public Administration under the President of Ukraine with a degree in public administration.

Career. From June 1987 to June 1989 - service in the Soviet Army.

From June 1993 to September 1994 - intern, assistant district attorney in the Goloprystansky district of the Prosecutor’s Office in Kherson region.

From September 1994 to January 1999 - prosecutor of the criminal department, deputy head of the department for monitoring compliance with laws regarding rights and freedoms and protection of state interests of the Prosecutor’s Office in Kherson region.

In January 1999, he was appointed judge of the Arbitration Court of Kherson region.

In September 2002, he became a judge of the Kyiv Appeal Court for Economic Affairs.

Since March 2006 - judge of the Supreme Administrative Court.

Since August 2010, he held the position of secretary of the fourth criminal chamber of the Supreme Administrative Court.

On June 16, 2014, Nechitailo was elected chairman of the Supreme Administrative Court of Ukraine. 45 judges voted for him.

Also competing for the position was a member of the team of former President Viktor Yanukovych - Nikolai Kobilyansky, who is the chairman of the Council of Judges of Administrative Courts. At the insistence of the lustration committee and civil society organizations, he withdrew his candidacy. 'So this is another small victory. We did not allow Kobilyansky - an experienced official from the glorious circle of President Yanukovych - to take the lead of the Supreme Administrative Court. Nechitailo was chosen - a person who does not provoke animosity and is openly not connected with the old administrative system in the judiciary,' said one of the leaders of the purification movement Karl Volokh.

The new chairman of the Supreme Administrative Court of Ukraine promised to fight corruption in the VASU in his new position.

In March 2015, Nechitailo submitted his resignation, repeated this request in December, and on June 6, 2016, the Supreme Judicial Council recommended to the Rada to relieve him of his duties due to his resignation request. In March 2017, he was re-elected - he was the only candidate.

On September 5, 2017, the Supreme Judicial Council dismissed Alexander Nechitailo from the position of chairman of the Supreme Administrative Court.
