Michele Nicoletti - former President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE).

Place of Birth. Education. Born on November 19, 1956, in Trento, Italy. Graduated from the Faculty of Philosophy at the University of Bologna.

Career. He taught philosophy and history in middle schools for seven years.

1991-1999 - Lecturer in moral philosophy.

1999-2001 - Lecturer in political philosophy at the University of Padua (Italy).

Since 2001, he has been teaching at the Faculty of Literature and Philology and at the School for International Studies at the University of Trento (Italy). Professor of political philosophy.

Parliamentary Activity. In 2013, he was elected as a deputy of the Italian Parliament for the autonomous region of Trentino-South Tyrol.

Since June 2013, he has been a member of PACE.

From 2014 to 2017, he was the head of the Italian delegation and Vice President of PACE.

From 2016 to 2017, he was the chairman of the Socialist Group of PACE.

On January 22, 2018, Michele Nicoletti was elected President of PACE.

In June 2018, Michele Nicoletti left the office of PACE President following his defeat in the Italian parliamentary elections. After the formation of a new delegation, he lost his seat in PACE. On June 25, 2018, Liliane Maury Pasquier was elected as Nicoletti's successor as President of PACE.

Family. Married, raising three children.
