Svyatoslav Vasilovich Oleynik - Chairman of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Council (2019-2020).
Place of Birth. Education. Born in Dnipropetrovsk. In 1998, he graduated from Dnipropetrovsk State University with a degree in Law. In 2009, he graduated from the Faculty of Psychology of Saint Petersburg State University with a degree in Ontopsychology.
Career. From 1998 to 2005, he worked in the prosecutor's office. He was at times the Deputy Prosecutor of Dnipropetrovsk. In 2005, he left the prosecutor's office at his own request and began a private law practice.
2006-2007 - Deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of the V convocation from the Yulia Tymoshenko Bloc party (No. 86 on the election list). Chairman of the Subcommittee on Parliamentary Control over the Protection of Human Rights in the Activities of the Law Enforcement Agencies and the work with applications and petitions of citizens of the Legislative Committee on Law Enforcement.
2007-2012 - Deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of the VI convocation from BYuT (No. 86 on the list). Chairman of the Subcommittee on Criminal Procedure of the Justice Committee. In September 2010, he was expelled together with several colleagues from the opposition faction BYuT for supporting the pro-government majority led by the Party of Regions.
Author of numerous draft laws, including laws aimed at additional measures to protect human rights in criminal proceedings, as well as regulating the pre-trial investigation system in Ukraine.
In the local elections of 2010, he ran for the position of Mayor of Dnipropetrovsk. According to the voting results, he took second place (lost to the incumbent mayor Ivan Kulichenko, whose candidacy was supported by the Party of Regions). The Ukraine of the Future party, of which Oleynik was the chairman, elected 39 deputies at various levels of the Dnipropetrovsk regional councils.
In the parliamentary elections in the autumn of 2012, he was at the top of the list of the Ukraine of the Future party, however, the political force did not overcome the 5% barrier, and Oleynik did not enter the Verkhovna Rada of the VII convocation.
In the 2014 parliamentary elections in Ukraine, Oleynik again led the election list of the political party Ukraine of the Future. However, the party did not overcome the 5% barrier and received no representation in Parliament.
In March 2014, Igor Kolomoisky appointed Svyatoslav Oleynik as the Deputy Head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Administration.
From March 5 to September 25 2014 - acting Deputy Head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Administration.
From September 25, 2014, to March 25 2015 - Deputy Head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Administration.
From December 2015 to November 2019 - First Deputy Chairman of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Council.
