Alexey Anatolyevich Orzhel - Minister of Energy and Environmental Protection of Ukraine (2019-2020)

Alexey Anatolyevich Orzhel is an expert in the fuel and energy complex and former head of the 'Energy' department of the Office for Effective Regulation (BRDO).
Place of Birth. Education. Born on January 26, 1984. He graduated from the Institute of Energy Saving and Energy Management of the National Technical University of Ukraine 'Kyiv Polytechnic Institute' with a Master's degree in 'Energy Management'.
Career. From 2006 to 2014, Orzhel was the head of the department for combined production of heat and electricity at the National Commission for State Regulation in the Energy Sector (NKRE). Since 2014, he has worked in the private sector.
Since 2014, he has been the chairman of the Ukrainian Association for Renewable Energy.
Political Career. In the extraordinary elections to the Ukrainian Parliament, he was elected as a deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of the IX congress of the party 'Servant of the People', No. 16 on the list.
From August 29, 2019, to March 4, 2020 - Minister of Energy and Environmental Protection of Ukraine.
In his declaration for the year 2018, Alexey Orzhel stated that he owns shares of the company 'Kyivenergo remont', which leases real estate. He owns 6,640 shares worth 3,230 UAH.
Together with his wife, he owns almost 4,000 m² of land in Kyiv and the Kyiv region (Obykhov district). The declaration also notes that Alexey Orzhel owns two houses and apartments in Kyiv as well as a cottage in the Obykhov region. The minister's car fleet consists of three cars: a 2003 Peugeot 307 SW and the newer models Nissan Qashqai and Nissan X-Trail.
In 2018, Orzhel's total income was 1.56 million UAH, of which 78,800 UAH came from the sale of assets. His wife Katerina had an income of 210,600 UAH, also from the sale of assets. They have 17,000 US dollars in cash.
