Lev Revasovich Parzhaladze - Ukrainian businessman, politician, and former Deputy Minister for Regional Development, Construction and Public Housing.
Place of Birth. Education. Born in Tbilisi, he has lived in Kyiv since 1986.
In 1989, he graduated from Vocational School No. 8 in Kyiv. He obtained his higher education degree from the European University of Finance, Information Systems, Management and Business (in the field of Organization Management).
Business. Since 1994, he has been active in the commercial sector and served as the director of LLC 'Korona-klub'. From 1998 to 2011, he was president of the corporate group XXI Century and chairman of the AC Investment Company XXI Century.
He is currently the non-executive chairman of the board of the company 'XXI Century', one of Ukraine's leading construction companies. The main activity area includes the development and implementation of projects in the field of commercial, office, hotel, logistics, and residential real estate, as well as their management. Completed and developing projects of 'XXI Century' include the retail chain 'Kvadrat', the fast-food chain 'Shvidko', the capital restaurants 'Pervak', 'Zarskoe Selo', 'SSSR', 'Taras', 'Korona', offices in Kyiv and major cities of Ukraine, a hotel line with 3-5 stars, multifunctional complexes, a network of modern logistics centers in the major cities of the country, premium and business-class apartments nationwide, including rural areas.
In September 2008, the company reduced administrative costs due to the development of the global financial crisis, limited investments, and partially reduced the workforce. 'The focus until the recovery of the sustainable economic growth period will be on the implementation of profile projects in the field of commercial real estate as well as premium apartments that will be in highest demand in the near and medium-term future on the market.'
... and Politics. In 2002, he was elected as a deputy of the Kyiv City Council. In 2006, he attempted to penetrate the parliament and the legislative body of the capital with his founding and leading party 'European Capital', but failed on both fronts.
The year 2008 was more successful for the successful contractor with the extraordinary regional elections. Parzhaladze joined with his 'European Capital' to Vitali Klitschko's bloc party and regained his mandate as a deputy in the Kyiv City Council. However, he had to settle for the role of an opposition politician due to an unsuccessful appearance of the 'Klitschkos' and the block of Yulia Tymoshenko. On December 2, 2010, he and Andrei Mirgorodsky left the Klitschko Bloc faction. According to media reports, Parzhaladze and Mirgorodsky were among the main financiers of the bloc.
From February 2015 to November 2016, he was the First Deputy Head of the Regional Government of Kyiv Oblast (first under Vladimir Shandra, then under Maxim Melnichuk).
On November 23, 2016, Parzhaladze was appointed Deputy Minister for Regional Development, Construction and Municipal Housing during a Cabinet meeting.
On September 4, 2019, Lev Parzhaladze was dismissed from the position of Deputy Minister for Regional Development, Construction and Municipal Housing by the Ukrainian Cabinet.
Public Activities. Chairman of the Board of the Ukrainian Construction Association (a professional association of over 200 of the largest contractors and construction companies in the country). Head of the All-Ukrainian Union of Entrepreneurs 'New Formation'. Member of the board of the Ukrainian Industrial and Entrepreneurial Union for the development of entrepreneurship in Kyiv.
From 2011 until December 20, 2016, he was president of the Association of Builders of Ukraine, which unites over 700 construction companies and specialized associations.
Awards. Honored Economist of Ukraine (2001), Knight of the Order of St. Vladimir III Class.
Family Connections. Lev's father, Revaz Mikhailovich (born 1941), is an artist, and his mother, Lyudmila Georgievna (born 1943), is an educator.
He has been married three times. His first wife is the model Natalya Sobchenko. From his first marriage, he has a son, David (2001).
In 2006, he married Lese Matveyeva, the winner of the 'Miss Ukraine - 2004' competition. The couple is raising two children: son Yegor (2007) and daughter Angelina (2010).
His third wife is Anastasia Stepanova (since June 2018). On August 19, 2018, a son, Daniel, was born.
Hobbies. Tennis, football, literature, chess.
