Vasiliy Petevka

Vasiliy Vasilievich Petevka - Mayor of Mukachevo (2003-2007), Member of the Ukrainian Parliament of the VI., VII., VIII., IX. legislative periods. He was a member of the Our Ukraine - National Self-Defense faction and the presidium of the United Center party.
Place of Birth. Education. Born in Transcarpathia - in the village of Zavidovo in the Mukachevo district. In 1985, he graduated from the Mukachevo Cooperative Technical School with the profession of goods manager. He is a distance student at the Mukachevo Institute of Technology in the field of economic engineering.
Career. After military service, he began his professional career in 1987 at the wholesale company of Veliko-Koropez in the Mukachevo district. Later, he worked at the Mukachevo Cooperative Technical School, PKF Latoritsya, and LLC 'Rey-Promin'. The director of the latter was Viktor Baloga - the former head of the Secretariat of the President of Ukraine Viktor Yushchenko and Petevka's cousin.
From 1997 to 2003, Petevka worked at LLC 'Barva'. In particular, he held the position of chairman of the board from April 1998 to December 2001 and from April 2002 to January 2003. During these periods, Baloga was the mayor of Mukachevo, governor of Transcarpathia, and then was elected as a people's deputy from Our Ukraine. Petevka is also referred to as a co-owner of the family business.
In 2000 and 2002, Petevka was elected twice to the Transcarpathian Regional Council. He took the position of deputy head of the permanent committee on issues of territorial and agricultural development, the agro-industrial complex, and rural development.
And in 2003, he received the most votes in the mayoral elections in Mukachevo. The elections took place with the support of Our Ukraine in the fight against candidate Ernest Nuser, who was supported by the SDPU(o) under Viktor Medvedchuk, and ended only after a long legal dispute with his victory.
In 2006, Petevka won the mayoral elections in Mukachevo again and was appointed a deputy of the Transcarpathian council.
In 2007, he received a deputy mandate in the early parliamentary elections on the list of the Our Ukraine - National Self-Defense bloc (he was in 60th place on the list).
From December 2012 to November 2014 - he was a People's Deputy of Ukraine in the VII. legislative period, elected as a candidate from the United Center in electoral district No. 72 in Transcarpathia. Member of the committee on tax and customs policy issues. Non-affiliated. Member of the United Center.
In 2014, he was re-elected to the Ukrainian Parliament as an independent candidate in the same electoral district.
On December 25, 2015, he joined the Volia Naroda deputy group, for which he was excluded from the United Center party. A member of the Committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on agrarian policy and land issues (since December 2014), part of the group for parliamentary relations with the Republic of Korea.
He participated in the early parliamentary elections of 2019 as an independent candidate in the majority electoral district No. 72 (Transcarpathia). According to the election results, he won the constituency.
In the IX. legislative period - a member of the Dovira deputy group.
Awards. Awarded the Order of 'For Merit' III class (2005).
Family. The politician is married. Together with his wife Marina, he raised two sons.
