Lidia Poriechkina: Biography
Date of birth: 06.05.1961
Place of birth. Education. Born in the village of Vasilkov in the Shpoljansky district of the Cherkasy region. In 1985 she graduated from the Kyiv Technological Institute of Light Industry (Economics and Organization of Manufacture of Consumer Goods, Economic Engineer). Doctor of Economic Sciences (1995).
Career. L. Poriechkina's professional path began in 1978 as a worker at the Shpoljanski sugar factory.
From 1979 to 1989, she worked as a foreman, senior laboratory assistant, and chief inspector at the Kyiv Technological Institute of Light Industry.
From 1989 to 1998, she was an economist, senior and chief inspector, head of department, deputy head of department, and director of the Institute for Banking of Operational Management of the Ukrainian Republic Bank 'AgroPromBank'.
In June-July 1998, she held the positions of head of department and deputy chairman of the State Agricultural Committee 'Bread of Ukraine'.
From 1998 to 2000, she was deputy chairman of the management of LLC 'Eco-Auto-Titan'.
From 2000 to 2001, she was chairman of the board of the Ukrainian State Innovation Company.
From 2002 to 2005, she was chairwoman of the public organization 'Center for Personal Development Promotion'.
From July 2005 to January 2007, she was Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine under Yuri Lutsenko. She oversaw the financial matters of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
From December 2006 to November 2008, she was an advisor to the Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko.
Since July 2009 - Chairwoman of the All-Ukrainian public organization 'All-Ukrainian Association of Heads of Territorial Communities'.
Political experiments. In the early parliamentary elections of 2007, the independent Lidia Poriechkina led the list of the All-Ukrainian Community Block. This political formation included little-known and unpopular parties such as the All-Ukrainian Peace and Unity Party, the 'National Democratic Union of Ukraine', the political party of small and medium-sized businesses of Ukraine, the 'Conscience of Ukraine' party.
No well-known figure from the circle of politicians (including 'former'), social activists, or artists was on the block's list. In fact, no active election campaign took place.
The block eventually took the 19th place out of 20 possible and received only 0.05% (12,327) of the votes.
