Date of Birth: 12.04.1960

Place of Birth. Education. Born in Dnepropetrovsk. In 1982, he graduated from the Moscow Institute of Steel and Alloys with a degree in 'Metallurgy of Ferrous Metals' (Metallurgical Engineer). After graduation, he entered the postgraduate program at the same university and defended his candidate dissertation in 1986. In 2003, he graduated from the National Academy of Internal Affairs of Ukraine with a degree in 'Law'.

Career. From 1986 to 1991, he worked at the Azovstal plant in Mariupol - as a steel caster, master, and acting head of the department. 1991-1994 - PhD student at the Dnipro Metallurgical Academy. 1994-1998 - Member of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine in the II term, a member of the Coordinating Council for Local Self-Government under the President of Ukraine. At the time of his election as a deputy, he was the director of a small enterprise 'Azovtekhno' in Mariupol. Since 1999, he has been working in the Kyiv city administration. First, as the deputy head of the Kyiv city secretary, then the head of the main department for foreign economic relations and investments (2000-2002). 2002-2005 Deputy Mayor of Kyiv Melnik. From April 2005 to May 2006, a deputy of Ukraine of the IV term from Viktor Yushchenko's block 'Our Ukraine'. In September 2005, he moved from the 'Our Ukraine' faction to the faction of the People's Movement of Ukraine. He served as the Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada committee on Eurointegration. 2006-2007 Member of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine in the V term from the block 'Our Ukraine' (No. 74 on the ballot). From November 2007 to May 2008, he was a deputy of Ukraine of the VI term from the Yulia Tymoshenko block (No. 117 on the list). Since December 2007, he has held the position of chairman of the State Committee for State Material Reserves of Ukraine (Goskomrezerv). From December 2008 to March 2010, he was Deputy Minister of Economy of Ukraine Bogdan Danylishin. At the time of the 2006 elections, he was a member of NRU. In the 2007 elections, he ran as an independent.

From 2010 to 2014, he worked at the property development company EYEMAXX Real Estate AG (Austria) as a project manager up to the head of the office. He managed the company's branches in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Hungary.

In 2017, Michail Pozhivanov became a member of the Agrarian Party of Ukraine. On December 17, 2017, he was elected a member of the Presidium of the Political Council at the XIII Congress.

Community Engagement. 1991-1994 Member of the Mariupol City Council, 2002-2005 Member of the Kyiv City Council. In 1998, he founded and chaired the Foundation for Municipal Reforms 'Magdeburg Law'.

Awards. Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor. Honored Worker of Industry of Ukraine (2004).

Family. Michail Pozhivanov is married. He has three sons.

Hobbies. Collecting paintings, literature, water polo, skiing, horseback riding, traveling.
