Anton Prigodski

Place of Birth. Education. Born in the village of Zelenitsa in the Yemelchino region, Zhytomyr Oblast. In 1979, he graduated from the Kharkiv Institute of Railways Engineers with a degree in Construction Engineering.
Career. From 1970, he worked as a site master in the construction section of the mining company of the Makijivshakhtobudivny Trust. In 1976, he was appointed chief engineer of the construction company of the Makijivshilstroy Trust.
From 1980 to 1990, he was the Deputy General Director of the Makijivshakhtobudivny Trust and the head of Mining Company No. 13 of the same Trust.
From 1991 to 1996, he headed the project construction company Monolit. From 1996 to 2004, he was the General Director of Embrol Ukraine Ltd. At the same time and later, from 2001 to 2006, he held the position of President of the Interregional Industrial Union Corporation, which produces coke, metallurgy, construction, and railway transport and owns a sanatorium in Crimea.
In 2002, Prigodski was elected a deputy of the Donetsk Regional Council. He chaired the Committee on Industry, Transport, and Communications.
In 2006, he was elected as a deputy of Ukraine on the list of the Regions Party. Following the extraordinary parliamentary elections in 2007, he received a mandate again for the Regions Party. Member of the Transport Committee of the Verkhovna Rada.
From December 2012 to November 2014, he was a deputy of Ukraine of the VII Congress of the Regions Party (No. 53 on the list). Member of the Committee on Transport and Communications of the Verkhovna Rada. Member of the Regions Party.
Views and Evaluations. Prigodski is referred to as a close friend of Viktor Yanukovych, his strategic political ally in the Regions Party, and even as the 'grey cardinal' in the circle of the party leader of the Regions.
According to some observers, he was part of the intra-party group that needed to informally deal with the group of regional owners connected to the owner of the SCM Holding and one of the main financiers of the party, Rinat Akhmetov, as well as his long-time friend Borys Kolesnyk. However, the internal party competition did not prevent Prigodski and Akhmetov from being partners in the Interregional Industrial Union and other business structures. By the way, Prigodski denied the existence of any conflict within the Regions Party.

He was seen as one of the most effective lobbyists in Yanukovych's environment.
