Vadym Vladymyrovych Prystaiko - former Ambassador of Ukraine to the United Kingdom, former Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration of Ukraine, former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, diplomat, former Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky.

Place of Birth. Education. Born on February 20, 1970, in Kiliya, Odessa Oblast. He spent his schooling in Odessa, Kiev, and Zaporizhia. Later, the family moved to Kiev. In 1994, he graduated with honors from the Kiev Polytechnic Institute with a degree as a specialist in information technologies. In 1998, he obtained a Master’s degree from the Ukrainian Academy of Foreign Trade. He speaks English.

Career. He began his career in the private sector. From 1993-1994, he was a co-founder of one of the first Ukrainian Internet service providers and online publications - 'Electronic News'.

From 1994-1997, he was Chief Economist, Head of the Department, and Deputy Head of the Department for Trade and Economic Relations with African, Asian and Pacific countries at the Ministry of Foreign Economic Relations and Trade of Ukraine.

From 1997 to 2000, he was Deputy Head of the Department for Asian and Pacific countries of the Fifth Territorial Office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.

From 2000 to 2001, he was a Consul at the Consulate General of Ukraine in Sydney.

From 2002 to 2006, he was a Political Advisor, occasional Chargé d'Affaires (2003-2004, 2005-2006) of Ukraine in Canada.

From 2007 to 2009, he was Deputy Director of the NATO Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.

From 2009 to 2012, he was Envoy, Deputy Head of the Mission of the Embassy of Ukraine in the USA.

From November 8, 2012, to October 29, 2014, he was Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Ukraine to Canada, from December 28, 2012, to October 29, 2014, he was the representative of Ukraine to the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).

Since December 2014, he has been Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine - Head of the Apparatus.

On September 20, 2017, the government of Ukraine dismissed Vadym Prystaiko from his position as the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs due to his appointment as the Head of the Ukraine Mission to NATO.

On July 7, 2017, he was appointed by the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko as the Head of the Ukraine Mission to NATO.

On May 22, 2019, he was appointed Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration of Ukraine at the suggestion of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky.

On June 25, 2019, the offer by President Volodymyr Zelensky to appoint Vadym Prystaiko as Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration was confirmed by the President.

On August 29, 2019, he was appointed Minister of Foreign Affairs at the suggestion of President Volodymyr Zelensky.

On March 4, 2020, the Verkhovna Rada voted for the resignation of Oleksiy Honcharuk as Prime Minister, leading to the resignation of the entire government. On the same day, the Verkhovna Rada confirmed the new government and Vadym Prystaiko was appointed as Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration of Ukraine.

On July 4, 2020, the Verkhovna Rada dismissed Vadym Prystaiko from his position as Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration of Ukraine.

On July 20, 2020, President Volodymyr Zelensky appointed Vadym Prystaiko as Ambassador of Ukraine to the United Kingdom.

On July 21, 2023, President Volodymyr Zelensky dismissed Vadym Prystaiko from his position as Ambassador of Ukraine to the United Kingdom.
