Wealth. In February 2009, Michail Prokhorow ranked first in the magazine 'Finans' ranking of dollar billionaires in Russia for 2008 with an estimated net worth of 14.1 billion USD. He displaced Oleh Deripaska from the top of the ranking, whose capital had drastically fallen due to the global financial crisis. Prokhorow himself reportedly lost 7.4 billion USD during the crisis.

From October 2008 to 2014, he was the President of the Russian Biathlon Union.

Political Activity. Since the spring of 2011, he has been the leader of the Political Party Just Cause. On September 16, he resigned due to a split in the party, accusing the deputy head of the Presidential Administration of Russia, Vladislav Surkov, of provoking the conflict.

In October 2012, Michail Prokhorow withdrew from business and entrusted his assets in trust to partners of the ONEKSIM group. He stated that he wanted to dedicate himself entirely to politics. That same year, Prokhorov became the leader of the Political Party Civil Platform.

In March 2014, Prokhorov, along with others, signed a petition in support of Russian musician Andrei Makarevich, who had criticized the policies of the Russian authorities in Ukraine.

On March 13, 2015, Prokhorov left the Civil Platform and proposed to dissolve the party due to the unsatisfactory behavior of its members who participated in the Anti-Maidan demonstration with placards such as 'Makarevich - Leader of the Maidan'. He also proposed to exclude regional branches from the party.

Hobbies. He is interested in skiing, athletics, and kickboxing.

Personal Life. Michail Prokhorow has never been married and has no children.
