Wadim Sinowjewitsch Rabinowitsch - Ukrainian-Israeli businessman, politician, TV host, president of the All-Ukrainian Jewish Congress. Former head of the Opposition Platform - For Life party. Former co-chairman of the faction of the Opposition Platform - For Life in the Verkhovna Rada of the IX Congress.
Place of Birth. Education. Wadim Rabinowitsch was born on August 4, 1953, in Kharkiv into a military family. After leaving the army, his father worked as an engineer at a factory and later became the deputy factory director for occupational safety. His mother was a district doctor.
In 1970, he graduated from Secondary School No. 45 in Kharkiv and enrolled in the Kharkiv Automobile Institute. He was expelled from the fourth year.

Between 1973 and 1975, he served in air defense near Kharkiv.
Professional Career. Since 1975, he worked as a foreman in the repair and construction management office of the Kharkiv city council.
From early 1983, he spent 9 years in prison for large-scale theft. During the trial, he simulated mental illnesses and repeatedly underwent judicial-medical examinations.
In 1995, he co-founded the television channel 1+1 with Alexander Rodnyansky and Boris Fuchsman.
In 1994, he founded the company Media International Group and served as president of the CN-Stolichnye Novosti publishing house from 1997 to 2009.
In 2008, he acquired the News One television channel.
Since 2013, he has been leading the activities of the News Network media group.
Since 1997, he has been the president of the All-Ukrainian Jewish Congress.
Since 2001, he has been the head of the Forum of Christians and Jews on the Path to Unity.
From 2007 to 2013, Rabinowitsch was the president of the Arsenal Kyiv football club.
Since 2011, he has been co-chairman of the European Jewish Parliament.
Political Career. In 2014, he ran for the presidency of Ukraine. On March 25, 2014, he submitted documents to the Central Election Commission to register as a self-nominated presidential candidate of Ukraine. The results obtained in the elections: 2.25% (406,301 votes) voted for candidate Wadim Rabinowitsch.
Leader of the political party All-Ukrainian Center Union.
In the early parliamentary elections of 2014, he was elected to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine under No. 4 on the party's Opposition Bloc list. Secretary and chairman of the subcommittee on human rights of the human rights committee, human rights, national minorities and interpersonal relations.
In August 2015, he announced his intention to run for the mayor of Odessa but never registered as a candidate.
On May 13, 2016, he announced his exit from the Opposition Bloc.
In July 2016, he presented the For Life party together with Yevhen Murayev, based on the Center party.
On November 9, 2018, Yuri Boyko and the chairman of the For Life party Wadim Rabinowitsch signed an agreement to establish the Opposition Platform - For Life.
On May 27, 2019, the members of the political party Opposition Platform - For Life unanimously elected party co-chairs Wadim Rabinowitsch and Yuri Boyko.
In the parliamentary elections of 2019, he was elected to the Verkhovna Rada of the IX Congress of the Opposition Platform - For Life as No. 2 on the list. On August 29, 2019, he was elected deputy chairman of the faction Opposition Platform - For Life in the Verkhovna Rada of the IX Congress.
On April 14, 2022, the Verkhovna Rada suspended the activities of the faction of the Opposition Platform - For Life. The suspension was dictated by the SNBO decision of March 20 to restrict the activities of some political parties, including OPZZH, for the duration of martial law. On May 12, 2022, the dissolution of the OPZZH faction in parliament was announced.
On July 18, 2022, President Volodymyr Zelensky revoked Wadim Rabinowitsch's Ukrainian citizenship.
On November 3, 2022, the Verkhovna Rada prematurely terminated the powers of MP Wadim Rabinowitsch.
On July 26, 2023, the State Bureau of Investigation announced suspicion of treason against Wadim Rabinowitsch. He is suspected of spreading anti-European propaganda in the European Union.
Family. Wife Irina Igorievna, with whom Wadim Rabinowitsch is raising three children: son Oleg (born 1973), daughter Katerina (born 1994), and another son Yakov (born 2008).
