Romanjuk Nikolai

Date of Birth: 24.08.1958

Place of Birth. Education. Born in the village of Zolochivka in Mlynyvskyi District of Rovno Oblast. In 1982 he graduated from the Lviv Forest Engineering Institute (Technology Engineer), and in 1995 from the Lutsk Industrial Institute (Economist).

Career. He began his professional activity in 1975 at the Lutsk Furniture Combine. From 1982 to 1983, he worked there after his studies as a foreman.

From 1983 until the early 1990s, he was involved in Komsomol and party work. He was an instructor, head of the Komsomol organizations of the Lutsk City Committee of the All-Ukrainian Lenin Komsomol Union, First Secretary of the Lutsk City Committee of the Komsomol (1984-1988), and First Secretary of the Volhynia Oblast Committee of the Komsomol Union (1988-1991).

From 1991 to 1993, he was the head of the Committee for Youth and Sports of the Volhynia Oblast Executive Committee, deputy head of the Youth and Sports Department of the Volhynia Oblast Administration.

From 1993 to 2007, he headed the Main Regional Administration of PrivatBank in Volhynia.

On December 10, 2007, he was appointed head of the Volhynia Oblast Administration by the decree of Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko. On March 26, 2010, he was dismissed by President Viktor Yanukovych.

From April to November 2010, he was the director of the Main Regional Administration of PrivatBank in Volhynia.

In the elections on October 31, 2010, he was elected mayor of Lutsk and re-elected for a second term on November 18, 2015.

Social Engagement. Member of the Volhynia Oblast Council for several sessions. In the Oblast Council of the V. Era, he was a member of the Our Ukraine faction, deputy head of the standing committee on budget issues, finance, pricing policy, and the use of property of territorial communities.

Family. Wife - housewife. Two adult sons - entrepreneurs.

Death. On February 2, 2017, Romanjuk was admitted to the hospital due to a sudden deterioration in his health and passed away on February 3.
