Date of Birth: 10.08.1961

Place of Birth. Education. Born in the village of Skalivskie Khutora in the Novoarkhangelsk district of Kirovograd region. In 1980, he graduated from the Kirovograd Medical School. In 1987, he graduated from the Kirovograd State Pedagogical University with a degree in History. In 1997, he completed the Academy of Labor and Social Relations with a degree in Finance and Credit. Candidate of Historical Sciences.

Career. 1980-1983 - Military service in the Soviet Army in Afghanistan, platoon leader.

1987-1989 - Lecturer at the Department of History of Kirovograd State Pedagogical University.

1989-1993 - PhD student at the Kyiv State Pedagogical University of Foreign Languages.

1993-1994 - Managing Director of Inkopmark.

1994-1996 - First Vice-President of the Republic Corporation, Chairman of the Board of InterGaz AG (Kyiv).

1996-1998 - Deputy of the Ukrainian Parliament of the II convocation from constituency No. 41 in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea. At the time of the election, he was a member of the Communist Party of Ukraine.

1996-1997 - Permanent Representative of the Ukrainian President Leonid Kuchma in Parliament. 1997-2004 - Advisor to President Kuchma.

From May to December 1998 - Deputy Minister in the Cabinet of Ukraine.

1998-2002 - Deputy of the Ukrainian Parliament of the III convocation from the pro-presidential People's Democratic Party. At the time of the election, a member of the NDPU. Member of the Labor Ukraine faction. Member of the Parliamentary Committee on Foreign Affairs.

2002-2006 - Deputy of the Ukrainian Parliament of the IV convocation from the pro-government block 'For a United Ukraine!' (No. 20 on the ballot). Member of the Parliamentary Budget Committee. Was a member of the factions United Ukraine, PPPU and Labor Ukraine, the Democratic Ukraine group, the Forward, Ukraine! faction. In November 2005, he became the head of the Parliamentary group of the People's Block Litvin.

Since 2006 - Head of the International Economic Committee.

2007-2012 - Deputy of the Ukrainian Parliament of the VI convocation from the Litvin Block (No. 12 on the list). Faction leader of the Litvin Block in Parliament. For one year, Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Human Rights, National Minorities and Interethnic Relations. Since December 2008, a member of the Health Committee of Parliament.

Was Deputy Leader of Volodymyr Litvin's People's Front Party.

From December 2012 to November 2014 - Deputy of the Ukrainian Parliament of the VII convocation from the Party of Regions (No. 16 on the list). Member of the Parliamentary Committee on Entrepreneurship, Regulatory and Competition Policy. Nonpartisan.

On January 16, 2014, he voted for the 'dictatorial laws' - a package of undemocratic laws that significantly restricted the rights of citizens and freedom of speech.

Awards. Awarded the Order 'For Merit' I-III Degrees.

Family. Wife - Viktoria Sharova (1961). Sons - Maxim (1984) and Stanislav (1988), daughter - Maria (1991).
