Date of Birth: 27.06.1972

Place of Birth. Education. Born in Lviv. In 1994, he graduated from the I. Franko Lviv National University (Department - Physics). In 1998, he graduated from the Kyiv-Mohyla Academy (Department - Political Science).

Career and Politics. 1989-1994 - active member of the student movement. Member of the student brotherhood of Lviv University. In 1990, he participated in a student strike on Independence Square in Kiev.

1992-1995 - co-founder and deputy chairman of the student brotherhood at the Kyiv-Mohyla Academy.

1994-1996 - coordinator of the 'School for Young Politicians' program of the Ukrainian Reform Support Foundation.

Since 1996 - President of the Foundation for the Promotion of Political and Legal Culture.

Since 1998, he has been working as the head of the secretariat of the faction of the Reform and Order Party (at that time, the PRP was led by Viktor Pinzenik) - Reform Congress.

Since 2002 - head of the apparatus and head of the secretariat of the Our Ukraine faction in Parliament.

Since November 2003 - head of the executive committee of the Reform and Order Party.

2005-2006 - head of the secretariat of the PRP parliamentary faction.

From August 2006 to November 2007 - deputy chairman of the Kyiv regional government of Oleksandr Turchynov.

2007-2012 - member of the Ukrainian Parliament of the VI convocation from the Batkivshchyna party, member of the budget committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.

Head of the executive committee of the Reform and Order Party (from February 2010 - PRP Leader - Serhiy Sobolev).

Vice-President of the national music festival 'Kyiv Rus'.

In the autumn of 2012, Semerak ran for Parliament of the VII convocation from the Fatherland party, but his place on the list (No. 76) was not eligible for election. Non-partisan.

From February 27 to December 2, 2014 - Minister in the Cabinet (under Arseniy Yatsenyuk).

In the snap elections in autumn 2014, Semerak was elected to the Verkhovna Rada through the lists of the People's Front party.

From April 14, 2016, to August 29, 2019 - Minister of Ecology of Ukraine under the government of Volodymyr Groysman.

Family. The politician is married and has a son and a daughter.
