Valentina Yevgenyevna Shevchenko - Ukrainian skier, bronze medalist of the 2009 World Championship in the 30 km race, bronze medalist of the 2006/2007 Tour de Ski, bronze medalist in the overall standings of the World Cup 2003/04, winner of the distance World Cup 2003/04, stage winner of the World Cup. Specialized in long-distance races. Participant in 5 Olympic Winter Games and 11 World Championships.
Birthplace. Education. Born in s. Gannivka, Chernihiv Oblast. Graduate of the National University of Physical Culture and Sports of Ukraine and the National Academy of State Tax Service of Ukraine.

First called to the Ukrainian national team in 1995. Made her international debut in the same year. Competed in World Cup races 127 times and stood on the podium 11 times. Belongs to the so-called 'red' group - the top 30 skiers in the world.
Awards and Achievements. Honored Master of Sports, member of the Ukrainian national team.
World Championship 2009 (Liberec) - Bronze in the 30 km event.
14-time winner of World Cup stages.
In 2009, she won the ski marathon (42 km) in Livigno (Italy).
Throughout her career, she participated in 11 World Championships (1995-2017, except for 2001).
Olympic Games. At the 1998 Olympic Games in Nagano, she achieved the following results: 15 km classical - 11th place, 5 km classical - 19th place, pursuit race - 20th place, relay - 9th place, 30 km skating - 14th place.
At the 2002 Olympic Games in Salt Lake City, she participated in four races: 15 km skating - 21st place, 10 km classical - 12th place, pursuit race - 20th place, 30 km classical - 5th place.
At the 2006 Olympic Games in Turin, she achieved the following results: Duathlon 15 km - 14th place, mass start 30 km - 7th place, 10 km classical - 21st place, relay - 8th place.
At the 2010 Olympic Games in Vancouver, she competed in four races: 10 km skating - 9th place, Duathlon 15 km - 14th place, mass start 30 km - did not finish, relay - 13th place.
Retired from competitive sports in 2018.
