Victor Andreevich Slauta - Ukrainian politician, member of the Ukraine's IV, V, and VI convocations, Minister of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine (2004), Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine (2007, 2010), Doctor of Economic Sciences.

Place of Birth. Education. Born in the village of Zakitnoye, Krasnolimansky District (now Limansky) of the Donetsk region. In 1973, he graduated from the Kharkov Agricultural Institute named after Dokuchayev with a specialty in 'Agronomy'. In 1999, he became a candidate of economic sciences.

Career. From 1973 to 1988, Viktor Slauta worked as an agronomist in the collective 'Kommunist', as a chief agronomist in the collective farm named after Zhdanov, as chairman of the collective farm 'Russia', as the second secretary of the city committee of the CPU, and as chairman of the city council of Krasnolimanskaya.

From 1988 to 1994, he held the positions of deputy chairman, first deputy chairman of the Agricultural Industry Committee of the Donetsk region, deputy director of agriculture of the regional party committee of the CPU, first deputy chairman of the regional council, and deputy head of the regional administration of Donetsk. Later, he was the general director of the company 'ElevatorzernoProm', director of the representation office of the GAAC 'Bread of Ukraine' in Donetsk.

Political Career. In 2002, he first won the mandate of a deputy of Ukraine and entered parliament as a member of the pro-presidential block list 'For a United Ukraine!'. At the time of the elections, he was the deputy governor of Donetsk Viktor Yanukovych and a member of the Agrarian Party of Ukraine.

From January 2004 to January 2005, Viktor Slauta served as Minister of Agrarian Policy in Viktor Yanukovych's first government. After his resignation, he returned to parliament. His first term as a deputy ended as a member of the faction of the Regions of Ukraine.

In the spring of 2006, he managed to enter parliament again - as a member of the party list of the Party of Regions. He held the positions of deputy faction leader of the Party of Regions and first deputy chairman of the Committee on Agrarian Policy and Land Relations of the Parliament.

On February 8, 2007, he was appointed Deputy Prime Minister for agricultural issues by the ruling coalition.

From November 2007 to March 2010, he was a deputy of Ukraine in the VI Parliament of the Party of Regions. He was a member of the parliamentary committee on agrarian policy and land relations.

From March to October 2010, he served as Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine in Mykola Azarov's government. He fell victim to the reduction of the government when the 1996 Constitution came into effect, which stipulated that the government should have three deputy prime ministers and one first deputy prime minister.

From October 2010 to March 2014, he was an advisor to the President of Ukraine.

Since May 2014, he has been the president of the Ukrainian National Technology Platform 'AGRO-FOOD'.

Awards, Titles, Public Positions. He was awarded the Order of 'For Merits' III class and holds the title of 'Honored Worker of Agriculture of Ukraine'. From 1997 to 2002, he led the Volleyball Federation and the War Veterans Fund of the Donetsk region.

Family. Viktor Slauta is married. The couple raised a son and a daughter.
