Irina Ivanovna Stavchuk - former Deputy Minister for Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of Ukraine, climate change expert, environmental activist, public figure.

Place of Birth. Education. Born in 1981 in Kyiv. Graduated from the Faculty of Thermal Engineering of Kyiv Polytechnic Institute with a degree in 'Computer-Aided Ecological and Economic Monitoring' and earned the title of Computer Software Engineer. She obtained another higher education degree at the International Institute of Industrial and Environmental Economics (Lund, Sweden) in 'Environmental Management and Policy'.
Career. Since 2004, she has been the Advertising Manager at 'Ikstend' LLC in Kyiv. From 2006 to 2017, she was the Climate Project Coordinator and Head of the Climate Department at the National Ecological Center of Ukraine (NECU). She coordinated the development and implementation of climate protection policy in Ukraine. She was also involved in UN negotiations on climate change. From October 2017 to 2019, she was the Executive Director of the non-profit organization Center for Environmental Initiatives 'Ekodia'. From June 10, 2020, to May 2022, she served as Deputy Minister for Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of Ukraine.
Public Activity. From 2008 to 2019, she was the Coordinator of the Climate Action Network in the Eastern Europe, Caucasus, and Central Asia region. From 2011 to 2013, she founded and led the public organization 'Kyiv Cyclists Association'. From 2015 to 2019, she was a Civil Society Observer on the Board of the Clean Technology Fund of the World Bank. She coordinated public campaigns to implement a policy for reducing greenhouse gas emissions in Ukraine. She actively advocates for strengthening energy-saving measures and the transition of Ukraine to 100% renewable energy sources.
Family. Married. Husband - Alexei Bagnyuk, the couple has a daughter named Anna.
