Eduard Anatolyevich Stawizki (Rozemberg) - Minister of Energy and Coal Industry of Ukraine during the presidency of Viktor Yanukovych (2012-2014).

Place of birth. Education. Born in Lebedyn, Sumy Oblast. In 1994, he graduated from the State Mining Academy in Dnipropetrovsk (specializing in mining engineering). In 2003 - Ukrainian Academy of Public Administration under the President of Ukraine (Master of Public Administration).

Career. From 1994 to 2002, he worked as a manager at the National Scientific Production Association of Ecological Fuel of Ukraine (Alexandria, Kirovohrad Oblast).

From 2002 to 2006, he was chairman of the board of the National Scientific Production Association of Ecological Fuel of Ukraine.

From 2006 to 2007, he was an advisor to the Minister for the Protection of the Natural Environment of Ukraine (Vasyl Diarty).

From 2007 to 2010, he was chairman of the board of the State Geological and Subsurface Resources Company of Ukraine, whose assets were acquired in favor of a company called Tantalite owned by the family of Viktor Yanukovych, the state residence Mezhyhirya.

From 2010 to 2012, he was chairman of the State Service for Geology and Subsoil of Ukraine.

From April to December 2012, he served as the Minister of Ecology of Ukraine (Azarov's first cabinet).

Since December 24, 2012, he has been the Minister of Energy and Minister of Coal Industry of Ukraine (Azarov's second cabinet).

On February 27, 2014, the Ukrainian Parliament dismissed Stawizki as Minister of Energy and appointed Yuriy Prodane in his place (in the government of Arseniy Yatsenyuk).

Criminal proceedings. On March 21, 2014, the Prosecutor General's Office, together with a special unit of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, conducted a search of the premises and offices of Eduard Stawizki. Stawizki is involved in a criminal case opened due to offenses committed by high-level state management persons under the articles 'Embezzlement of property by abuse of office in particularly large amounts' as well as 'Money laundering of income obtained by criminal means'.

In March 2014, law enforcement agencies discovered 42 kg of gold, 4.8 million US dollars, a large number of jewelry, numerous documents on real estate, shares in companies, land plots, registration documents for foreign companies in various offshore jurisdictions, bank cards, documentation on accounts in several banks during a search of Stawizki's house.

On August 3, 2016, Sergei Gorbatyuk, head of the special investigations department of the Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine, reported that the GPU had requested the Israeli authorities to extradite Eduard Stawizki to Ukraine.

On December 12, 2016, the Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine reported that a court had seized 10 residential properties, 7 garages, commercial real estate, a land plot, and gold bars belonging to Eduard Stawizki.

On April 25, 2017, the Interpol file control commission upheld the lawyer's appeal and removed Eduard Stawizki from the wanted list.

On January 30, 2019, the Court of the European Union lifted the sanctions against Eduard Stawizki.

Public activity. Since 2002, he has been the honorary president of the children's sports club Crystal Amethyst Football Club (Alexandria, Kirovohrad Oblast).
