Biography of Viktor Tatkov
Date of birth: 29.04.1956
Place of birth. Education. Born in the village of Novoihnatevka, Volnovakha district, Donetsk region. In 1982, he graduated from Rostov State University with a degree in 'law'. Candidate of legal sciences.
Career.
- 1974 - apprentice of an auto mechanic at the Dokuchaevsk flux-dolomite plant.
- 1974-1976 - mandatory military service.
- 1976-1982 - mechanic at Donetsk automobile repair plant No. 1.
- 1982-1990 - legal inspector, chief legal labor inspector of the Donetsk regional council of trade unions.
- 1991-1992 - chief legal inspector-referent of the labor law and employment commission of the Donetsk regional council of trade unions.
- 1992-1994 - head of the legal department of the Donetsk regional state administration.
- 1994-2001 - deputy chairman of the arbitration, economic court of Donetsk region.
- From August to December 2001 - judge of the Donetsk appellate economic court.
- 2001-2010 - chairman of the Donetsk appellate economic court.
- From August to September 2010 - judge of the Supreme Economic Court of Ukraine.
- 2010-2014 - chairman of the Supreme Economic Court of Ukraine.
- 2010-2014 - member of the High Council of Justice.
On September 29, 2016, the Verkhovna Rada relieved Viktor Tatkov of his duties as a judge, as he fell under the law on cleansing of power for violating incompatibility requirements.
During 2016-2017, Viktor Tatkov unsuccessfully attempted to contest his lustration in Ukrainian courts.
On September 3, 2019, the High Council of Justice relieved Tatkov of his duties as a judge of the Supreme Economic Court of Ukraine based on violations of the requirements of incompatibility.
Awards. Judge of the first qualification category (2005). Honored lawyer of Ukraine (2002). Awarded the Order of Merit III degree (2006), the Order of Prince Yaroslav the Wise V degree (2009).
Criminal case. On October 18, 2016, the Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine informed Viktor Tatkov of suspicion of illegal interference in the automated system for the distribution of judicial cases, and on December 19 - announced him wanted. At that time, Tatkov was receiving treatment in Germany and did not return to Ukraine afterward.
In 2018, the former judge applied to the Austrian authorities for asylum due to the threat of extradition to Ukraine.
On April 4, 2018, a Ukrainian court authorized the detention of Viktor Tatkov. On September 13, 2019, the High Anti-Corruption Court arrested him in absentia.
The Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine also accuses Tatkov of interfering in the activities of judicial bodies, making intentionally unlawful decisions, and demands his extradition from the EU. Tatkov and his associates own at least 143 properties that have been seized by the High Anti-Corruption Court. All these properties are located in the Kyiv region and in Kyiv.
Family. He has a daughter, Anastasia, and a son, Ivan. Viktor Tatkov is referred to as the godfather of former President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych and former Prosecutor General Viktor Pshonka.
