Wjatscheslaw Mychajlowytsch Wjatrovych (ukr. Wolodymyr Mychajlowytsch W'jatrovych) - Ukrainian historian, publicist, researcher of the history of the liberation movement, activist. Doctor of historical sciences. Former chairman of the Ukrainian Institute of National Remembrance. Chairman of the Scientific Council of the Center for Research on the Liberation Movement (Lviv), member of the Supervisory Board of the National Museum-Memorial for the Victims of Occupation Regimes 'Prison on Lontsky Street', former director of the State Archive of the Security Service of Ukraine (2008-2010), editor of the scientific publication 'Ukrainian Liberation Movement' (2003-2008). Since November 14, 2019, he has been a member of the Ukrainian Parliament of the IX. party European Solidarity.
Place of Birth. Education. He was born on June 7, 1977, in Lviv. From 1994 to 1999, he studied at the Faculty of History of Lviv University (specialization - History of Ukraine). In 2004, he defended his doctoral thesis entitled 'The foreign enterprises of the UPA in the context of the realization of the anti-totalitarian national democratic revolution of the nations in Central Europe.'

In 2004, he was a member of the youth opposition group 'Youth Resistance' in Lviv. Later, he joined, along with other activists of the organization, the public organization 'Black Hour'.
2005-2006 - Lecturer at the Ukrainian Catholic University. Author of the first curriculum developed in Ukraine for secondary schools 'Ukrainian Liberation Movement of the 1920s-50s' for students of the historical faculties of the Ukrainian Catholic University and the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv.

The film 'The Secrets of Bandera' (author - Swetlana Usenko) was criticized by him for the distorted facts about the biography of the hero and, in his opinion, the biased, false portrayal of the main character.
In 2013-2014, he was an active participant in the civil sector of Euromaidan.
He participated in the early parliamentary elections in 2019 for the party European Solidarity, however, his place on the list (No. 25) was unsuccessful.
On September 18, 2019, he resigned from his position as director of the Ukrainian Institute of National Remembrance.
On November 14, 2019, the Central Election Commission recognized Wjatscheslaw Wjatrovych as an elected deputy following the list of the party European Solidarity in position No. 25.
Criticism. Some Ukrainian, Russian, Polish, and American historians criticize the works of Wjatscheslaw Wjatrovych and accuse him of political bias in the portrayal of the actions of the OUN and UPA. They accuse the author of the use of rhetoric and disregard for facts, although they sometimes mention absurd facts that do not correspond to reality.

Winner of the literary prize of Ivan Koschelivets for the study 'On Ukrainian-Jewish Cooperation in the Struggle for an Independent Ukraine' (until 2008). Winner of the book rankings of the National Writers' Union of Ukraine (2012).
