Wladimir Nikolayevich Schmak - former chairman of the board of the joint-stock company 'Ukrzaliznytsia', former deputy chairman of the Odessa regional government.

Place of Birth. Education. Wladimir Schmak was born on March 16, 1964, in Chernobyl, Kyiv Oblast. In the 1970s, his family moved to Kyiv. From 1982 to 1984, he served in Afghanistan and received several awards.

In 1990, he graduated from Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv with a degree in 'International Relations'. He studied alongside Petro Poroshenko (a class above him) and Mikheil Saakashvili.

Career.

From September 1981 to October 1981 - Trainee auto locksmith at car column 3 of the automotive base No. 1 of the automotive trust Kyiv.
From December 1981 to September 1982 - Regulator for radio equipment of the 2nd and 3rd class at the main installation office for communication devices of the South.
From January 1985 to August 1985 - Regulator for radio equipment of the 4th class at the main assembly and technology office 'South'.
From June 1990 to October 1991 - Advisor to the cooperative 'Jurwneshservice' in the supervisory board of the company 'Knowledge of the USSR'.
From October 1991 to December 1993 - Commercial Director of the Ukrainian-French joint venture 'Loire-Kyiv International'.

After the takeover of the TNK-Ukraine company by Rosneft, Schmak became head of Rosneft-Ukraine.
From October 2012 to June 2015 - President of Rosneft-Ukraine.

Political Career. Wladimir Schmak's first foray into politics in 2014 during the Kyiv City Council elections was unsuccessful. He was the only candidate in district No. 43 from UDAR, Petro Poroshenko's Block, and the Third Ukrainian Republic Yuri Luzenko. But he lost the elections to Alexander Pabat.

Awards and Titles. Honored Lawyer of Ukraine (May 25, 2009). Order 'For Courage' III class (September 29, 2009), Medal 'For the Defender of the Fatherland', Red Star Order, Medal 'For Bravery', Badge 'Democratic Internationalist Fighter', Medal 'For the Internationalist Fighter of the Grateful Afghan People'.

Declaration. In the declaration for 2019, Wladimir Schmak indicated four apartments in Kyiv, a house of 720 sqm in Horiantschi, and another of 61 sqm in Shyshchyi. The family also owns 6 land plots and an apartment in France, owned by Wladimir Schmak's French wife.
