Scandals. On February 8, 2012, Roman Zabzalyuk revealed sensational recordings about the bribery of deputies of the Verkhovna Rada for transitioning to the camp of Viktor Yanukovych. Zabzalyuk stated that his exit from Fatherland was a special operation in which he participated to expose Yanukovych's camp. Zabzalyuk clarified that after his statement about leaving Fatherland, he was offered to join the group of defectors loyal to Yanukovych. To prove this, Zabzalyuk presented a tape recording of his conversation with deputy Igor Rybakov, who heads the Future Reform Group, which unites defecting deputies in Parliament. In the recording, Zabzalyuk was offered up to $500,000 for the transition to Yanukovych, then a monthly support of $20-25,000 and a 'bonus' of another $500,000 in case of successful work. As Zabzalyuk claims, the recording was made by him on his mobile phone during negotiations with Rybakov in his office. Zabzalyuk specified that he developed the operation to expose his opponents together with the head of the parliamentary faction of Fatherland, Andrey Kozhemyakin, a former KGB and SBU officer.
