Place of Birth. Education. Born in Starokostiantyniv, Khmelnytskyi region. In 1971, he graduated from the Kyiv State Pedagogical Institute named after Gorky (specialization - teacher of the Ukrainian language and literature). In 1991, he graduated from the Kyiv Institute of Political Science and Social Management (specialization - political scientist, lecturer in social and political disciplines). In 2000, he graduated from the Kyiv National University of Trade and Economics (specialization - economist-financier). Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor.

Career.

  • 1966-1967 - locksmith in the repair and construction management of the October district of Kyiv.
  • 1971-1972 - teacher at Belhorodsky Secondary School (Kyiv region).
  • 1972-1973 - service in the Soviet Army.
  • 1973-1974 - teacher at Belhorodskaya eight-year school.
  • 1974-1986 - director of Bobrytska eight-year school, Horenytska Secondary School, Belhorodskaya Secondary School.
  • 1986-1992 - deputy head of the executive committee of the Kyiv-Sviatoshyn District Council of People's Deputies.
  • 1992-1993 - deputy head of the district state administration of the Kyiv-Sviatoshyn region.
  • 1993-2008 - deputy chairman, chairman of the board of the Pension Fund of Ukraine (since 1996).
  • From January 2008 to August 2009 - deputy secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Raisa Bohatyreva.
  • From September 2009 to March 2010 - extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador of Ukraine to the Republic of Croatia.
  • From March 2010 to November 2012 - chairman of the board of the Pension Fund of Ukraine.
  • From November 1, 2012 - extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador of Ukraine to the Czech Republic. On August 19, 2016, the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko relieved Zaychuk of his duties as ambassador of Ukraine to the Czech Republic. Zaychuk submitted his resignation back in March after reports in Czech media that the Ukrainian embassy in the Czech Republic had attempted to free from prison a former advisor to the fugitive ex-president Viktor Yanukovych.

Honors. Holds the 1st rank of civil servant. Honored Worker of the Social Sphere of Ukraine. Awarded the Order of 'For Merit' III degree, the Order of Prince Yaroslav the Wise V, IV degree.

Family Connections. Married, has two daughters - Svitlana and Yelena. Brother of related lineage - Valentin Zaychuk, former head of the Apparatus of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
