Biography of Sergey Zimin

Date of Birth: 24.03.1952

Place of Birth. Education. He was born in Donetsk. In 1975, he graduated from the Kyiv Polytechnic Institute (Equipment and Technology of Welding Production, Mechanical Engineer) and began his studies at the Kharkiv Aviation Institute (1969). Doctor of Technical Sciences (1995).

Career. 1975-1979 - Engineer, Senior Engineer at the Paton Institute of Electric Welding of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (Kyiv).

1979-1980 - Deputy Laboratory Head for Welding in the Construction and Installation Sector of Yugenergomontazh (Kyiv).

1980-1983 - Head of Plant No. 3 of the Irpinsky Combine Pobeda (Kyiv region).

1983-1989 - Senior Engineer, Head of the Metallurgical Department, Head of the Production and Technical Department, Deputy Director for Production at the Research Institute for Special Electrometallurgy at the Paton Institute of Electric Welding.

1989-2006 - General Director of NPF Arma, Chairman of the Presidium, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Arma Holding Company, Chairman of the Council of the Kyiv Armature Corporation.

From April to May 2006, he was an advisor to the Mayor of Kyiv, Leonid Chernovetsky.

From May 2006 to September 2007, he served as Deputy Head of the Kyiv City State Administration under Chernovetsky.

From September 2007 to January 2008, he was Deputy Minister for Housing and Communal Services of Ukraine (first - Alexandr Popov, then - Alexey Kucherenko).

From May to July 2008, he was the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of PJSC Kievkhimvolokno.

From July 2008 to October 2009, he served as Deputy Minister for Housing and Communal Services of Ukraine Kucherenko.

From February to July 2009, he was the Head of the State Housing Control Inspection.

From April to November 2010, he was Deputy Minister for Housing and Communal Services (until June - Popova).

On November 24, 2010, he was appointed by decree of the President of Ukraine, Viktor Yanukovych, as the Head of the Shevchenkivska District State Administration in Kyiv.

On March 22, 2014, the acting President of Ukraine, Oleksandr Turchynov, dismissed Sergey Zimin as Head of the Shevchenkivska District State Administration in Kyiv.

Awards. Honored Machine Engineer of Ukraine (1997). Awarded the Order of Merit III Class (2000).
