New Year trees are already on sale: how much live and artificial trees cost.

According to ТСН: In the capital's supermarkets, the sale of New Year trees has actively started - both live and artificial, with stable demand among residents at the end of November and the beginning of December.

The correspondent went to one of the capital's supermarkets to familiarize herself with the assortment and prices.

According to her, the New Year exhibition started to form back in mid-November, and recently live trees in pots appeared for sale.

“We put a live tree at home every year, but this time I decided to compare options and prices for artificial ones. That’s why I came to see what assortment is available in the stores,” the correspondent said.

Prices for live trees and pines start from 350 UAH.

Sellers note that buyers were eagerly waiting for the appearance of live trees.

“It is important for people to have an alternative to artificial trees,” sellers say.

• A tree in a pot 15-20 cm tall costs about 370 UAH.

• Larger options cost approximately 850 UAH.

• Pines in pots are also available for 350-370 UAH.

• Artificial trees range from 65 UAH to several thousand.

The assortment of artificial trees is much larger - from small office options (65 UAH) to large models for several thousand.

“Most often, artificial trees sold are between 1.5 and 1.8 meters tall. Preference is given to models resembling pines, dark green, with a light 'snow' coating. The average cost ranges from 1400 to 2000 UAH,” sellers say.

Stores also present LED trees that imitate traditional ones but consist of lighting. They are popular due to their energy-saving mode and compactness.

Tips for buyers: how to choose a quality artificial tree

• Choose a tree that is 30-40 cm shorter than the ceiling height, so that the top can be installed without problems.

• The materials should be odorless. If the plastic does not have a strong aroma, it is a sign of quality.

• There are two types of materials prevailing in the market: PVC film and molded polyethylene/polyvinyl chloride.

• The best models are combined, lush inside and realistic outside.

• Try bending the branches: if they hold their shape and do not shed, the tree is of good quality.

• It is recommended to choose models with hinged fasteners, where the branches move up and down.

  “Such trees last longer. Fully molded models deform faster,” sellers explained.

• The stand should be sturdy, preferably metal.

  “For trees that are 1.8 m tall, a good base is important so that the tree does not fall, especially when decorated with glass ornaments,” the store added.
