Trump, Biden, and Harris Fall Victim to Iran's Phishing Attack - Google Report.
In a prolonged phishing attack, the Iranian government hacker group APT42 targeted a dozen individuals associated with U.S. President Joe Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, and former President Donald Trump. This information is provided by the Google report.
According to the report, the Iranian group targeted the Biden-Harris administration and related presidential campaigns. One of the attacks was successful and targeted a high-ranking political consultant.
The APT42 group employs various techniques, including embedding malicious links in emails and PDF attachments. Additionally, it is known that the hackers interact with victims on encrypted messaging platforms to gain their trust.
Google security researchers continue to monitor APT42's attempts to hack personal email accounts associated with Biden, Harris, and Trump.
