According to inkorr.com: A large-scale operation took place in Turkey, during which 18 people were arrested in connection with a scandal involving football betting. Among those arrested are 17 judges and the president of one of the football clubs.
According to the Istanbul Prosecutor's Office, the detainees are suspected of abusing their official positions and manipulating match results. The Turkish Football Federation has uncovered facts of active bettors among the referees and has already suspended more than 100 arbiters.
In the qualifying matches for the World Cup, the Ukrainian national team managed to achieve an important victory over Azerbaijan and played a draw with the same team. Unfortunately, the Ukrainian team lost to France with a score of 0:2.
This large-scale operation indicates serious problems in the management of Turkish football.
