The first visit of the monitoring mission to the nuclear substation important for safety is scheduled for the week of September 9-15, said the head of the State Nuclear Regulatory Inspectorate, Oleh Korikov.

"The first visit of the monitoring mission to one of the damaged substations that resulted from Russian shelling will take place next week", - said Korikov.

The director of the State Inspection for Nuclear and Radiation Safety said that throughout the war, numerous Russian strikes were observed near nuclear power plants. In addition, drone and missile arrivals in the observation areas of NPPs and surrounding territories were continuously recorded.

"This is not related to nuclear and radiation safety and should be stopped as soon as possible", - commented Korikov.

Also, Russian strikes on power lines and high-voltage substations negatively affect the operation of NPPs. For example, due to the attack on August 26, when the main target was the transmission system, 4 power units were shut down.

However, Korikov emphasized that in this case there were no violations of the limits and conditions for the safe operation of NPPs.
