The U.S. State Department reported that the Russian leadership sent 10 thousand soldiers from North Korea to the Kursk region, near the border with Ukraine.

This was stated by U.S. State Department spokesman Matthew Miller, according to Ukrinform.

The Secretary of State stated (last week – ed.) that about 8 thousand North Korean soldiers were sent to the Kursk region. We currently estimate that about 10 thousand have been sent there and may engage in combat in the coming days, Miller said.

The U.S. expressed concern about the growing military partnership between Russia and North Korea.

Miller also noted that the U.S. has seen media reports about the participation of North Korean units in military actions but cannot officially confirm this information. However, if North Korean soldiers are indeed assisting Russia, they become a target, the State Department representative said.
