Eight Ukrainian servicemen sentenced in the 'DPR'

The Supreme Court of the 'DPR' sentenced eight Ukrainian servicemen to 15 to 17 years in prison. This was reported by the Investigative Committee of Russia.

According to the announcement of the Investigative Committee of Russia, eight Ukrainian servicemen, who served in the 36th Separate Marine Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, were sentenced in the pseudo-republic 'DPR' for shelling the infrastructure of Mariupol. They were accused of damaging gas distribution and pumping stations, which caused significant material damage and damage to critical infrastructure objects.

The pseudo-republic court found these servicemen guilty of cruel treatment of the civilian population and intentional property damage.

Among those convicted are Denis Sivets, Yuri Halatsky, Leonid Bulava, Igor Zharenko, Semen Belyak, Yaroslav Bozhkov, Pavel Bey, and Vitaliy Kirilenko.

This is not the first time that Russian courts have sentenced Ukrainian servicemen. Earlier, Alexander Malovychko was convicted, accused of killing a resident of Mariupol, as well as Vladislav Plakhotnyk and Pavel Zaporozhets.

Three more Ukrainian soldiers were also convicted in the 'DPR' on fabricated charges.
