In France, a jewelry store was robbed using a forklift.
A loud robbery of a jewelry store took place in the center of Lyon, France. An unknown assailant used a forklift to enter the store, smashing the window. This was reported by the publication Lyon Capitale.
At about 6 AM, a man dressed in a construction vest stole a forklift that was parked at a construction site on Grenette street. He drove the stolen vehicle to Republic street and attacked the window of the jewelry store. Then, within a few minutes, he entered the store and stole the jewelry located in the display.
After the crime, the assailant fled and left the forklift at the site of the broken window. Since the store was closed at that early hour, there is no information about any victims.
According to information, the thief stole several complex watches worth 50 thousand euros.
It is worth noting that the store was opened in 1830, and in 2012 it was transferred to Galerie Lafayette. According to the police, the investigation is still ongoing, but no suspects have been detained so far.
